That’s some serious overhangs. No support?
Looks amazing! Really is awesome.
Thanks guys!
@jerryflyguy No supports. I did print this before with supports I placed in S3D and it did not make a difference printing with or without the manual supports I created. The layer height is 0.2 so the overhang buildup is less gradual than it would be at layer heights greater than 0.2.
@LassiVVV Esun PLA PRO. 218C hot end 60C bed. 50mm/s print speed. 0.2mm layer height, 3 layer wall thickness with outer wall at 70% print speed. 20% infill. 3 solid bottom layers and 4 top solid layers.
I have mixed feelings about the Esun PLA PRO. It likes to extrude very thin compared to regular PLA. And print temps are manufacture recommended at 210-225C. I use Simplify 3D.
The print looks great from the top side view, but I assure you guys there is some clean up I have to do on the underside. Like I said this Esun PLA PRO likes to extrude somewhat thin so sometimes on overhangs it will not quite stick to the previous layer and because it likes to extrude thinner compared to regular PLA the outer walls come out looking very neat, so it is a double edge sword.
Here are the files if you guys want to print this. The guy did an excellent job on these parts. His built supports are remarkable.
Really clean!
Wow!!
What name
I would be an anxious mess by the end of that print
