Anyone know how to fix this drifting in the y axis?

I actually just tightened the gear and tuned down the driver and it seems fine. But I hate the crappy filament. It jams easily

I, at one time, had a printer that did this. Come to find out my print surface was actually moving slightly due to high acceleration. Fixed the glass down better issue resolved.

If you have trouble with the pla not extruding try upping the temp by 5’ to see. I exrtude at 205’ and have never really battled with any pla. Also dont know if your extruder is spring loaded but it makes a difference.

@Michael_Scholtz it’s ok to run PLA at 205?

Also my extruder was the one from the Smartrap and didn’t work well. I am switching to the airtripper and am also buying one from printrbot and going to make it Bowden.

There is one on thingyverse that works will have a look and send you the link. Its the one that allows you to daisy chain them. 205 has been fine for pla on mine.

That would be great if you could send me that.

And I had had a problem with z banding on it. I’m thinking it’s the threaded rod being bent a little bit like a lot of this stuff it’s beyond me. Any suggestions @Michael_Scholtz ?

@Mark_Rehorst I’m not using a heated bed. Nor am I running a fan on my print. should I add a fan to cool the print?

Don’t worry about a fan on the print won’t cause the problems you’ve had. Heated bed would be a great addition but not critical. Your easiest 1st step is higher print temp.

@Michael_Scholtz ok cool. It never seemed to occur in the first prints where I was at 210c but when I dropped it down to 185 it showed it a lot. And the flow was not too great. I’ll try a higher temp and print that extruder.

I’m on holiday and after much deliberation I left my printer at home so can’t take a pic to send but will have a look if I have one of the setup of mine on my phone.
