@Steve_Anken sadly I must say smoothie is the easiest it can get so for it not to work with you we must be missing something very very dumb
It sure looked easy. Thanks for trying but the client has no time to get this working and I’ve burned way too much time on this and lost money. Not good.

Steve, just ran across this post looking for a way to get mine to home.
Just went thru several days of hell like you did. It turns that out you can’t use wordpad to edit config file. It edits, looks ok, but somehow corrupts the text. No warnings.
There’s a note about the issue buried in the Smoothieboard documentation, You would think that would be the 2nd line…
You can use Gedit to set up the config and it works. Otherwise the motors are noisy, weak and change direction at random.
