Here is the PCB and enclosure I've been working on for the Wemos D1

this is awesome

Wow nice work, i might be interrested in ! What trace width did you use to support the current (how much can it support actually) ? And what power supply do you use ? Thanks for the clarifications, that’s an awesome job

@Lyoson_Lenus Thanks! The traces are only .6. I don’t actually feed power for the strips through the board. The power and ground connectors on the bottom are actually meant to power the board from the strips, so current flowing through the traces should be minimal. For larger installations, I use splitters to inject power at regular intervals along the strip/string. Does that make sense and answer your question?

@Jason_Coon Ok i understand, thank you for your anwser, i will keep you updated for the order

@Jason_Coon Kicad & fusion too, i consider you a Good Genius ! i wish a partner like you in near future, i’m starting a business of IOT, and you will be very welcome

Update: now available on Tindie: https://www.tindie.com/products/jasoncoon/wemos-d1-mini-esp8266-led-and-level-shifter-shield

I have 8 PCBs and two enclosures available to ship immediately. Right now I only have shipping rates on Tindie for US & Canada. If you’re elsewhere or you want to save on shipping and don’t mind waiting, PM me and I can have them shipped directly from the manufacturer anywhere in the world for free.

Update: a smaller version of the shield is now available on Tindie: https://www.tindie.com/products/edit/wemos-d1-mini-esp8266-level-shifter-mini-shield/

This version uses the smaller, four channel 74HCT125 level shifter, and still has spots for a small decoupling capacitor and resistors, but does not have space for the large 1000uF capacitor. This one is the same size as other Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 shields, like the OLED one.

Hi Jason, this is with hct125 instead 245 ? why you changed ?

@yosef18 yeah, using the four channel SN74HCT125N, which is the same family as the eight channel SN74HCT245N used in the bigger shield. Don’t need the extra channels, and it’s smaller. Even then, it’s a tight fit.
