Hey all, After having some bad luck trying to buy a 3d printer in

Thanks, I was looking at tthat one before too, and with the knowledge someone got it and it works, I think I’ll order it today and throw in my 2 cents

@Garret_K
Great. I still think this printer is quite good. It has some imperfections, like the fixing of the smooth rods. It works but I don’t really like that. The heated bed has hard time reach 100C. I print ABS on 90C bed and with ABS slurry, and that works fine. I got a red and a black ABS filament with it, and the black is not very good, but the red is great. With the right settings it prints nice. Have fun.

Thanks for the advice, I had to look up ABS slurry and that tip alone looks like it saved me some stress and grief. I’m mostly concerned about electrical problems, and I like that you had it working on the first print. (y)

i got the printer working, did a test block
-looks like it extrudes too much plastic
-the dimentions were a bit off
-after the block and a failed attempt at another thing(incorrect scale 6mm instead of 6cm so i stopped the print) the hotend wont heat up

that sounds less than Ideal

new updates on the printer:
-the heater block died, replaced it with a soldering iron one and it works great
-the plate holding the heated bed to the rails has warped, enough to stop the bed from moving freely over the blocks that hold everything together

all problems so far:
-blown motor drivers
-blown lcd
-blown arduino
-blown heater cartridge
-badly printed parts, some parts have cracks in them
-cracked frame
-warped bed frame
-noisy extruder motor fan
-no instructions shipped
-wrong wall plugs, it wasnt an aussie plug

if i was getting a 3d printer i would get a different one, i expected problems with buying a brand with only a few reviews but not this many

@zephyrin_JG Man, that sounds awful. :frowning:

+Csáki Péter yes it is
im using the original heated bed temp and it prints great, and there isnt that much heat below the bed :frowning:

That’s wild. I was apprehensive enough to decide to source the pieces myself. It’s longer and more expensive but I’m hoping to avoid the problems you mentioned. Thanks for housing with the experience.

ive printed a heaps of stuff now
-print new gears, that makes it print more consistently
-print an adjustable z endstop
-keep an eye on the temps 235c for the hotend and 110 for the bed
-great detail at 0.1mm layer height
-my nozzle clogged, its a bad one so i ordered the aluhotend v6
-besides that its a nice printer
