Hey everyone, I'm finally back in the mindset to attempt the smoothie conversion again.

You need a source of 5v for the middleman which connects to both endstops. You can pick it up on the endstops connectors on the board and route it to the middleman, as long as you have 5v to the middleman you are good. One connection is fine it connects to both endstops on the middleman.

@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty quick update. I setup Laserweb3 on my mac so I could get started testing movement by running a job, but couldn’t get LW to see the AZSMZ usb port. All it was showing me was a Bluetooth port option, which obviously didn’t work.

@Chris_Sader No drivers are need on OSX so something is wrong. Try the following. Connect the azsmz to you mac but do not turn on the K40, the board should come On via the usb. From there wait and look under " about this mac " at the top left under the apple menu and click system report. From there look under USB and it should show the USB device. Of course im going to asume that you did click refresh on the LW interface so it will show the connected serials ports available

@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty no luck. only shows built in apple keyboard devices and such.

@Chris_Sader wow. It’s like if someone doesn’t want you to use it

Any chance you have a windows to try? Maybe get the windows drivers?

http://smoothieware.org/windows-drivers

@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty nothing on windows either. crap.

Sigh… @raykholo wanna give me a pity discount on one of your boards? :’(

But I remember you where able to jog the machine correct?

@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty I am able to jog it using the LCD control.

The only thing that occurs to me is that the USB is broken. I had that with another board. Contact the seller for a refund or exchange

@donkjr thanks again for the wiring diagram above. Very helpful! I’ve got everything hooked up and moving, so I’m on to hooking up the laser. I took the LO wire from the PSU and put it into D8 (-) like you have it pictured, but I’m not getting any laser fire when I run GCODE through laserweb. Any ideas Don or @Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty ?

Is the laser section in the config enabled? Is every line without the point key? Is the laser fire pin the correct one for DO?

That seems to have been the problem @Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty . I changed the pin to 2.5 and it’s working now. You guys are awesome, thanks for bearing with me!

Now off to realign everything again!

@Chris_Sader it has been almost a pregnancy for you. Congrats if it’s working. Would love to see what you do specially as your photography is awesome

Are we all talking about the same output pin. My recommendation was P2.8. Given @Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty has the same board as you check his physical connection and config settings.
Try a Laser/Laser fire from the GLCD assuming you have the same firmware, that will show you if the board is connected correctly.

@donkjrhttp://we.dont use the same pin azsmz

@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty yes I looked up the AZSMZ and provided this quess?

Google Photos

Same as your setup?

2.5 seems to be working for me…should I look into it?
