@Marc_MERLIN and @chad_steinglass Can you guys recap the solution? I’m not sure I completely understand what to do to avoid crosstalk. It sounds like the ground line is twisted together with the signal, but not electrically connected at all. Is that right?

@Sam_Guyer on mine the ground line is connected on both sides. I guess maybe I could disconnect it on the panel side, but I didn’t try that.
@Marc_MERLIN Sorry, maybe I’m being dense here …
Assuming I start with the simplest possible setup – three wires running to the strip (ground, power, and data) – what is the modification I need to make to protect the integrity of the data signal?
@Sam_Guyer if you have multiple data signal for parallel output, this is what I did:
- connect each signal line, along with a copy of ground from the ESP32 to a pair of wires on CAT-5 (1-2, 3-6, 4-5, 7-8). Connect that ground on the other side too (the signal too obviously)
- separately connect the high amp power supply to the ESP32 and the LEDs
- re-inject the ground and power into multiple places on the strip

@Sam_Guyer - as Marc is saying, in cat 5 cables, the wires inside are twisted pairs. I think you’re on the same page. Each twisted pair should be one signal and one ground. I think that’s it 
For my quick solution since I didn’t happen to have a bunch of cat5 around, I just reduced the length of the signal wires significantly (from a couple feet to a couple of inches) and that solved it too.
