Hi all, I am finally starting a new project in about 3-4 days for

Hey mate, found one!

Will this work?

I realise you’re probably asleep right now haha but I have about 3 hours to order it…

That should work we will need to look at the pinout of the header and get it connected to the teensy. What kind of methods are you connecting the teensy?(breadboard or prototype board etc).

@Andrew_Gardner its 5:45 pm here I will be up for another 5 hours

This is great news!

Well they suggested I buy this: https://littlebirdelectronics.com.au/products/logic-level-converter-module-1 so I will get one of those as well so I don’t blow up the Ethernet board

I was hoping that everything would stack nicely but now with the Ethernet module I think I will have to go down the bread board route.

@Andrew_Gardner unless this is running at 5v logic you should be just fine typically these adapters are 3.3 V logic which the teensy is as well.

That being said, if All I have to solder up us 8 connections from the Ethernet module to the Teensy, I might just do a nice job a sit it safely in a nice enclosure.

That’s the other issue and why I didn’t place the order immediately. The place that builds the board I linked earlier https://www.dfrobot.com/ appears to have their site down so I can’t find the pinout anywhere for the Ethernet module.

Teensy pinout is easy. https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/pinout.html just not quite half way down.

hmmmm the guy at little bird electronics said something about them running at 5v logic although on the description in their site it says 3.3v…for the sake of $3.50 and I can bundle it with my existing order (so free shipping, kinda), probably worth just grabbing hey?

Not bad to have on hand. Double check the module but should be 3.3v and if it is your good to connect to the teensy without it

yeah, says in the item specification:

"Specification

  • .NET Gadgeteer Compatible
  • Power supply 3.3V
  • Interface SPI
  • …"

My question, if I order it and use it, does that run more risk of destroying it?

I call them back and he confirmed that the other guy made a mistake. He also mentioned that dfrobot is normally a very good site so hopefully they’re only down for a day or something.

I’ll order that module in good faith and hopefully we can get that pinout in time…

So when can I annoy you for the code for all this to (hopefully) plug and play and work haha

I couldn’t have done half of this without your help mate, I appreciate it more then you’ll ever know

Looks like their site is back online http://image.dfrobot.com/image/data/TOY0022/W5200_datasheet_v1.2.7_en.pdf - I am looking through now to find the pinout of the cable that it comes with.

Yes I will get you the code and what I used. I should have that up later today

Thanks so much mate! Hopefully it’s plug and play with the Glediator Code  Turns out the pinout was a little harder then expected, i’m on the phone with a mate now who’s trying to help me decipher the schem sheet.

Hey Chris!
Got the project started on the weekend. Sooooo many holes to drill… I will upload some progress shots today or tomorrow.
The Ethernet module arrived yesterday and the Teensy and Octo are scheduled to arrive today or tomorrow.
Is there any chance I can annoy you for that code as I am starting to stress a little about getting it done on time haha it’d be nice to have the code all 100% before everything arrives so I can just upload and test without delay.
Thanks!
