Hi everyone complete and utter NOOB here.

Once you got that setup share the picture.

There are several more things to do. Yes you have to connect to the Arduino and wire the motors. You have to calibrate the drivers. I will walk you through that too. Do you have a voltmeter? If not you can get one from Walmart or somewhere else. You will also need a phillips head screwdriver, and 2 alligator clip leads. They have clips on both ends.

Step 5 Don’t wire the laser yet. Just the motors. X is the one on the laser carriage. Y has 2 one on the left and eight of the machine. It doesn’t matter if you connect left to Y and right to A, but that is how I would do it.

Cheers. I shall grab a my multimeter later and post a pic of it when I can find it.

Also you will need to look up the datasheets for the motors. I couldn’t find one. So did the kit come with one? Or tell you how to set the drivers potentiometer? We need to know the amp rating for the motor. Or we could try getting the value from the drivers one their board. If we can assume that they set them correctly.

Absolutely nothing came with it.

I just realised I have 6 of the original drivers from the boards they sent me so can use them as should be set right for the steppers.

Hopefully. Then we just make sure all 3 are set the same. So see if the motors plug into the black 4pins next to the drivers you are using. Hopefully they are wired the same.

You have end stop switches right? They need to be hooked up if you do. Otherwise I guess you coupd manually zero the machines home.

Thank you. All steppers fit perfectly and work fine. Just hook up laser now. It is pwm and has it’s own board with fan connected to it so just 3 wires from the diode driver board. So is it a case of connect the 3 wires then to what is said above?

What is the original power supply voltage? Amps? If 12v the following comment will be correct.

Power supply hook up. Com is just another way to say Gnd.

Your laser driver wires will be connected as follows.

Yellow wire to white side of SpnEn pin.
Black wire to black side of SpnEn pin.
Red wire to + 12 volts. You could use the blue screw terminal. Just be sure you put it in the + side.

You will need to have a 12v power supply wired to the blue screw terminal. Be sure you get the polarity right.

Cheers. I had no luck with that configuration and remembered reading about older boards and using end stop z+ and that’s worked a treat. Now just the setting up and learning to use. Thank you so much for your help, you’ve been awesome thanks.

Cool! Congratulations! Be sure to post a short video of it working.

Very first try. Onwards and upwards now thank you. On a very low setting
