Hi guys: I was wondering if you can give me some ideas on why

@Michael_Spano_Jr_Ama I think Makerware is the better option. I have not been able to get the Makerware software to work with the MBot. The only software that works with the Mbot, out-of-the-box, is ReplicatorG and I would advise that you stay-away from that.

I’ve used both. I actually used repG at first because I had more control over it but have since then moved to makerware full time now since they made their slicer more customizable and quicker.

Thanks, everyone. I am using a duct with cooling enabled. I will update Slic3r and tinker with bridge flow rate. I usually just use support but some prices, like the Kossel extruder, have internal small bridges that support would not work with. I appreciate your time.

Update: I made two changes. I updated to the latest Slic3r and changed my infill from honeycomb back to rectilinear. Also dialed back the extrusion multiplier a touch as one commenter recommended. The results are very nice. The step cubes printed very well this time. Many thanks.

@Jason_Bowling now see how it does with a bridge calibration object. Just do a thingiverse search there are a ton.

I would just love to be able to use it and learn how to use a 3d printer

@Amy_Farr get a simple. Great printer and great price. Awesome way to learn for sure

I agree. It has been a wonderful learning tool. I have had to tinker with mine to get it to where I wanted it, but it’s easy to work on, and what you’ll learn directly applies to other printers. It is a great value.

Side note: if you want to be able to make precise parts that fit together and have modest tolerances, you might want to look at another model. You can do it with a Simple, but I had to add a heated glass bed to eliminate warping. If that’s your goal, it might be better to make the investment up front for something more full-featured.

If you want to learn about 3D printing and what it can and can’t do, and just have some fun printing models and figurines, it’s terrific.
