How do you take care of your linear bearings? After a week-long break,

@Eric_Moy , I packed them with some grease that my bike mechanic recommended (for roller bearings in the wheel hub). It was enough to be the machine printing again, but not apparently enough to get the bearings to fall on their own weight. As soon as I get paid, I plan to replace the clearly bad bearings. I’m not clear on grease vs oil. Is one better than another?

Grease is thicker, helps reduce noise, stays in place longer - oil is too thin I think.

Like @ThantiK says, grease is better, it also floats dust off the bearing surfaces, but it’s to messy for me, so I just use oil.
