Nice!! Thanks man.
@Brook_Drumm what awg wire do you use in the ubis?
It looks like 300mm for 30 awg, 250mm for 31 awg for the makergear hot end. I wonder how much of that is for connecting to wiring.
I have decided that my nozzle and tubing for the filament will be a simple nail between 5 and 8mm thick.
Be sure not to solder to the nichrome wire- clamps only. And proper Wiring sleeves to go over the wire - heat rated. Only a very very short stub of nichrome should come out of the wrapped core- it will be super hot without a physical connection to the thermal mass.
@Brook_Drumm thanks for the tip. I was thinking of soldering wire or pins to the core and running all wires through the assembly to the top. I want it nice and tidy.
Anyone use high temp thermal switches?
Solder will soften or melt at high temps so avoid solder close to core
@Brook_Drumm it would be within a ceramic cavity and trapped. Would it still be bad? I just want to make sure the electrical connection is 100%.
I just got my nichrome wire in the mail.
Well the resistance tables that I was looking at seem to be a little off so I wonder if the amps to celcius table is off too.
