I’m gonna make a peg board shop vac vacuum former and use thin acrylic I’ll have to make a form probably paper mache
I’m Just going to build a cover out of Alu sheet or possible dibond that will go over the Bowden and Kraken tubes. Likely hinged to allow easy access to the carriage.
Oh, and I’m going to use the same material as side panels. Screw fixed to the tslot so I can remove them easily for maintenance.
@Tim_Rastall Like a 5 sided box tall enough for travel clearance hinged on top the printer? Add a lift cylinder and latch for that extra industrial look
@D_Rob you are the definition of dyi. I have made vacuum formers before at my last job. How are you going to heat the acrylic? That stuff sets up super fast. I have seen it roughly done with a heat gun over a wood buck form. Took the guy days… But end product looked smooth.
Make a wood frame that fits the oven rack and has the acrylic sandwiched in the frame. When it droops about 5 inches it is ready. A second set of hands should be very helpful.
