I made a thing. It's tiny, compact, rigid and superfast.

My cnc router is foaming at the mouth to cut these parts.

AWESOME work @Rene_Jurack !!! Love the speed and clean look of it.

I would like to invite you to @FabCon-3D (14-16. June, Erfurt, Germany) for a talk about the build process and your other projects.

Can you drop me a quick mail at florian@hcask.com - I’ll have some cool details for you then.

Thank you all for all the nice words!

Very nice write up also! Love it!

Love it. It. Rocks.
Brook

Wow. A work of art! Is that body entirely metal?

I got to say that’s pretty nice

I love all the screws. A step away from steampunk rivets

What are your acceleration settings? You need a lot of acceleration to reach 300mm/s in that volume.

@Brook_Drumm Actually, there aren’t as much more screws as on any other printer - They are all just closer together :stuck_out_tongue:
@Daid_Braam The DICE can reach a travelspeed of 833mm/s, like shown in two of the 6 linked videos. Acceleration is tested up to 12.000mm/s² at a printspeed of 300mm/s. But thats not the limit. Yesterday, I printed a cube with 100.000mm/s² and because of that with a constant max speed of 50mm/s with no issues for testing purposes. Proper hardware opens possibilities…

Just… Wow!

Acceleration is needed for printing at high speeds, bringing true average printing speed way down but much higher travel speed is a huge benefit

very nice design,i realy like it

@Rene_Jurack isn’t it cheating to have the filament feed sticking out like that and still calling it a 200mm cube?

Anyways, mad props to you, knowing how difficult designing a printer with such strict size restraints is. I tried and eventually gave up since you just run into so many challenges that you originally don’t see at all.

@Thomas_Sanladerer Funfact: The extruder was planned to be inside aswell! That’s why there are 2 holes at either side on top and only one is used for the wires of the hotend. The second one was meant for the PTFE-tube. Then I stumbled upon the fact, that you have to load the extruder from time to time with new filament - A silly habit, isn’t it? :stuck_out_tongue:

René! Utterly beautiful! if only I had your design skills! - Please take a look at CubeSpawn if you get the chance - WARNING it is not pretty, yet… Google Search
