Scott I have a x700 clone running RD works 50w. Can you do a tutorial and explain what the procedure was please. Thanks
Tony these are all samples that i downloaded. In rd works output direct has to be selected to use the grayscale as power levels, using minimum and maximum values for depth…go to thingiverse and search 3d grayscale image.
@Alex_Krause …just dish soap and hot water and a soft scrub brush
@funinthefalls …it’s probably 3/16 of an inch…it could have been deeper if i went with 4 passes.
@Alex_Krause …this is alderwood cooking planks i ordered off of amazon…5.5 x 14 inches 6 pieces for 16.00 bucks…not bad.
I’ve just ordered some 12 x 12 maple sheets 1/2 inch thick…12 bucks a sheet but I’ve read that maple is best for the 3d carve…I’ll repost some pics when it arrives.
Wow, you’re going to have a lot of router guys looking at lasers.
Nice work, and I think you’re qualified to do a tutorial on the art if you feel like doing it. I know I would learn a lot.
I’d also like to know your impressions on RD Works and some of the details on that.
Thanks, Scott
Hi Scott that is nice work, RD works software dose it generate g-code or is it a direct connection software can it be run on a smoothie board K40
Thanks Dennis
Awesome results wow
@Dennis_Fuente …it is proprietary to the dsp controller…only works with ruida controller.
For those who are curious this is the type of image @Scott_Thorne is working with
Besides looking for just 3d grayscale you can also search for depth map when looking for images to test on
I did one a few months back but lack the detail of yours scott
@Alex_Krause …not bad…try the grayscale.
Do you move the Z table/focal point, or is it fixed ?
,@Todd_Miller …if your were asking me…no i kept ît at the same height
Scott
How long did the machine have to run to make that design
Thanks Dennis
About 30 minutes…i lost quite a lot of detail because sized the original down to 4.5 inches…but it’s the only hardwood i had.
Still looks fantasic great work
Dennis
@Dennis_Fuente …thanks bro.
