dont give up on sharing louise , although you do seem to attract the freaks!!! as well as reach out to the many good folks that appropriates your models . there reply was stunningly arrogant and terrible misinformed young group.
Maybe a new license, or a change in terms to the licensing that specifies that the end object is the copyrighted item, ie the printed item, so the CAD file is just a step to that end copyrighted item…feasible?
dont need a new license just need the taker movement to respect CC and create there own TIHS to sell.
The iPhone case on this ebay shop is my creation on thingiverse too based on beautiful Dutch lion image I found online. Such a shame this seller doesn’t just make their own designs.
@Nathan_Walkner If Louise controls the distribution of her designs personally then she is free to define the terms. If there is a requirement for a downloader to agree to those terms then that should be binding.
I don’t see how a downloader has a right to interpret any such agreement as they choose.
@DimensionAlley_3D_De if this eBay shop is a serial abuser, then eBay must act, or the law will see them as a facilitator of copyright abuse.
EBay profit from every sale, and their failure to act on clear evidence of copyright abuse will make them a very juicy target for lawyers backing your cause.
@Nathan_Walkner I’m not personally in possession of the evidence of copyright abuse.
@Louise_Driggers and @DimensionAlley_3D_De need to assert their copyright to eBay, with supporting evidence. I am not their legal representative in this matter.
Failure of eBay to act is not a crime, nonetheless they are then vulnerable to a civil action.
If the evidence of copyright abuse is clear, eBay don’t have a leg to stand on, and they must take that eBay shop down.
Additionally, the copyright holders, once they have proven their case, are fully entitled to any profits from any sales made.

If all of her designs are posted like this, then the designs should not be used for commercial purposes.
Blueprints have been stolen and charges brought up for it for ages. The format of the blueprint is not relevant. This person is full of shit. I would report them to Ebay for breach of license.
On top of everything else, they did not attribute her for the work. That is two violations. It is her intellectual property and I believe she can sue.
I just reported the item as “non authentic” This does not require me to be the owner. Others should do this, then lets see what ebay does, If it works, then possibly this tactic could be used on the Dutch Lion phone case mentioned above, and if that works too, maybe this could prove to be an effective method of deterrant to such conceited profiteers.
@Jason_Perkes That eBay store are acting like bullies, assuming that @Louise_Driggers and @DimensionAlley_3D_De do not have the financial resources to challenge them.
If every communication between the original artists is kept, including that email to Louise, then any decent lawyer will take them to the cleaners.
There are legal services here in Australia that will take this type of case pro bono, but unfortunately that doesn’t help in the US.
The only legal defence that the eBay store has is to declare bankruptcy.
@Nathan_Walkner it is, without a doubt, a misleading title - Aria had nothing to do with Game Of Thrones. Good call.
Is there anything the community can do to shame this seller? All this talk of lawsuits costs money, can we help @Louise_Driggers grassroots style? negative feedback, comments, hit them in the reputation.
@Nathan_Walkner I’m not saying we put his personal info out on blast, just looking for the complaint process to eBay so we can all send a complaint.
@Mike_DiMare grassroots is a good idea, but who knows how effective?
My opinion is that the best place to apply pressure is eBay.
EBay definitely profit from this abuse, they will not declare bankruptcy to escape, and are clearly facilitating the copyright abuse.
A decent lawyer can win this on a no-win-no-fee basis.
@Paul_Gross agreed, do you have a link to apply some eBay pressure?
@Mike_DiMare I’m in Australia. I don’t know of any legal services in the US that are like those we have over here.
“This product is a one-of-a-kind 3D printed custom creation!” WTF? Why do they make an image like that and then steal shit?

http://vero.ebay.com/vero/smoothtom One guy from vero who has thousands of images online under Creative Commons licenses.
I sent the piece of crap a message and he said some crap about 300 years of legal precedent for public domain. The problem is, that is not public domain. It is Creative Commons. I am sure that one vero guy that I mention above will be able to help.
I reported it as a stolen item. The IP was stolen. That should at least get them to review things.
@Nathan_Walkner Oh well. So eBay might get upset at me for doing an incorrect report. I don’t use it often. That slime uses eBay to sell thousands of items that are probably in violation of CC licenses though.
