“Specialized build plate” looks strikingly like PEI. Been using it for a year now, it works great for me.
If this was a CoreXY using linear rails instead of smooth rods things would be a little different.
Those rods do look pretty slender for the span. And I am a huge fan of linear rails.

@Rene_Jurack True, but that isn’t really extruding either. Generally, extrusion and build quality determines speed.
