@Tim_Rastall Here’s what I came up with, but I’m not sure they are usable. I mean, the 4 STEP files combined weigh 2 times as much as your whole current assembly, the big gear alone is 36MB. That’s going to weigh your assembly down a lot. It’s because of all those facets. FreeCAD can convert an STL to solid, but apart from planar faces, it cannot reduce the number of facets.

A suggestion, for the gears use simplified models not showing the teeth. Like screw threads are usually not modeled.

@Tim_Rastall , on a side note I saw in the bill of materials that you got the aluminium from China. How do the aluminium extrusions from Aliexpress feel in terms of quality and straightness?

@korpx The profile is slightly different from the Misumi stuff I’ve had in the past but apart from that, perfectly straight (as far as I can measure) and good quality, I shall be buying more.
