@Marc_Schaefermeyer
Yo Marc! Yes I did get the calipers… it’s weired tho… the mm in meshcam matches my in" dimensions… I’ll double check tho
Why does the nose of the router appear to be wobbling around? Is that normal? Doesn’t seem like a good thing for precise work.
@javierymirna well, i set mine to 1200 with no problems, but I’m running grbl 0.8. Make absolutely sure you are using 0.8 before you try setting it to that, as I think $5 means something completely different on 0.9. Also, @jlauer , I don’t think changing the multiplier in CP will change this speed will it? Since there is no feedrate specified for the rapid moves (traditionally), in my experience it always uses what GRBL has stored as the default feed rate. Of course, the feedrate specification in the gcode seems to affect the G1 moves just fine.
@Frank_Graffagnino hey Frank well… I bumped my 5$ from 250 to 350, it seems a little faster… I’ll do it I small increments… I’m not sure what version of GRBL I’m using
oh, just issue the $$ command and I believe the version should be at the top somewhere.
@Frank_Graffagnino wil do Frank! Thanks!!
@javierymirna @Frank_Graffagnino I’ll be interested in seeing both of your settings, and I looked at @Dustin_Penner videos as well. Looks like you gain a lot of speed with the dewalt or equivalent router over the quiet spindle. Are all of you considering dust shoes and shop vacs to control the dust / flying bits? @jlauer thanks for linking in Dustin’s video!
can you do some custom carbon fibre cut ?
I need two small pieces from 1mm carbon fibre.
Thanks
@DEM_GER sure! u have the files and the material?
@Bruce_Lunde The dust shoe is another thing that one should consider while using the DW660. It creates the dust but also has a powerful fan that blows it around. I usually just use my shop vac since the jobs I run aren’t more than 30 minutes and I can just watch it.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer @Bruce_Lunde I’ve tried to get the shoe from Shapeoko.com but they r out of stock… I don’t feel like making it my self maybe cuz I got too much on my plate right now
I think someone posted his dust shoe design on OpenBuilds. You can cut that dust shoe from acrylic or g10 again and be done.
