There's a slight difference in size with these new APA102 2020 strips.

Oh right i forgot they solder sections together! Thanx for clarifing that. Im still waiting on a reply email lol

Post a comparison of brighhtness! I’m sure each led is less bright, but the does the density of the leds make up for it?

Adafruit describes them as “Eye blistering bright”

@Charles_Schmitt_Deta good idea! I’ll go ahead and do that real quick.

@Cristian_Martinez they are insanely bright for their size.

Well im still waiting on a reply email all they asked me was for my company name. I still dont have one lol. Been a whole 36 hours now

@Cristian_Martinez weird… I don’t think they asked for a company name from me…

Weird… well i may try contacting them again. I only have 4 different email addresses lol

7 here. Haha

Oh dang and i thought i had too many! What all do you use them for?!

Personal, eBay and PayPal only, my day job, a professional personal mailbox, one for my business, one that I used to use for file exchanges, and one that I only use if I think something could be a scam. They just kinda stacked up over time. Haha

Yeah thatd how its going for me lol. Got 1 for possible spam

Those of you who wanted to know how bright they are in comparison to something like ws2812b 5050s, I’m uploading a video now.

@Kyle_Halvorson for the individual Apa’s in 2020 package theyre $0.11 a piece and they come in reels of 3K. Thats $330 lol

@Cristian_Martinez that’s a pretty good price. :slight_smile:

I am very interested in purchasing some of these but I am not able to find some specs for them. How many connections? I think it may be 4. Is the strip 4 mm wide? Can they be used with FastLED? How durable are they? Will they handle crossing bending points like joints (elbows, knees) very well? Thanks

@Kyle_Halvorson which one did you ordered exactly ?

It’s a bit misleading to say that they can be cut anywhere. Because although that’s true, you’re not reliably getting juice, nor bits of bytes back into that strip unless you have a microscope you can solder under… and some luck.

I have a couple of the Adafruit 8x8 1"x1" matrices. Those are searingly bright. I’ll post a video when I’m able.
