FYI the Kickstarter for this is live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/814534542/blackbelt-3d-printer
What is the patent pending? Polar 3d, for one, has already shown a design where the bed is not perpendicular to the z.
Brook
@Brook_Drumm I think what you said is a misnomer, Polar3D’s printer certainly has a Z axis perpendicular to the bed, they just use polar coordinates instead of an XY plane.
@Adam_Steinmark He’s talking about my continuous printer I was showing at MRRF 2017. See the Hackaday article here: http://hackaday.com/2017/03/25/mrrf-17-the-infinite-build-volume-printer/
Yeah I saw and commented directly after you posted the link the first time, but Brook mentioned Polar3D has a printer with the Z axis not perpendicular to the bed which isn’t really true.
@Adam_Steinmark Ah… Polar3D is my company’s name. The desktop printer you are talking about is just one of our products, the continuous printer was a design study of mine. (We also have other products in the educational space… all under the Polar 3D name.)
Oh that’s my bad. I didn’t see realize the connection. Apologies @Brook_Drumm
I wasn’t very specific! My bad. I went away from MRRF thinking William Steele had some great ideas and was a cool dude. And that I need to try that infinite build system myself.
