I will log into my Fusion360 later this evening and see what I can come up with and send you any update that I come up with
@Darren_Lee Apologies for the delay.
Run this. Very inefficient code as I wasnt sure if you were after the Id of the outside circle or the OD of the gear, so just slightly increased the outside circle and ran a pocket op on the area between the gear and outside circle. No holding tabs, be cautious at depth. 3.175 mm 2 flute straight cut end mill. Ran slow, so tune your RPMs accordingly 8 - 10k based on the wood you choose. Run in MDF or something cheap. Whole thing is done is done climb.

I’ll try this tonight.
Were you able to make a part that was usable?
@Brandon_Satterfield @Tracy_Ranson
Here’s the cut in-progress. The cut matches the toolpath simulation exactly. However, the part I was trying to make is actually the internal gear (teeth inward) rather then the spur. But just how this toolpath works, I could easily do the reverse that Brandon did and use a clearing or pocket toolpath instead of the contour that I was using before. Perhaps 2D contour was just a poor approach for CAM?
Actually rather ironically I was planning on making a mold of this ring gear, so I might just run the same gcode in some renshape or machinable Wax and pour the resin in!
@Darren_Lee switch to CAMBAM then, seems this was an arc issue between Fusion and TinyG. Be happy to run the code for you again if you would like.
I will experiment with fusion a bit more to see if I can reproduce in other circumstances. I also want to try some of the OnShape CAM addons
What version of Onshape do you have?
OnShape is browser based (cloud) CAD. So it doesn’t really have a version, it is always the latest “version”. It’s free to use if you keep all files public, there’s a fee if you need private file storage. If you have Solidworks experience it is very easy to pick up.
I have used Solidworks about 8-years ago but it was more than what I needed for the type of stuff that I do so I went with Cambam. I use other software as well but primarily Cambam.
