@PaulStoffregen I miss spoke when I said regulator, using this DC/DC converter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JGISHQQ so its not terribly inefficient.
@Luminous_Elements I think I might risk it with the battery, looking at my power draw now I’ve got more setup I think I it will drain about 48amp hours over 8hrs, and probably a lot less than that. So with a 115ah battery I think even if it damages it a little it’ll be ok for the week. I also doubt I’ll let it run that long unattended anyway. Getting fuel out there is a hassle in itself, and gas tanks are shockingly not cheap (unless someone has a good alternative?).
That’s less than 50% DoD; you’ll be fine as long as it gets a charge each day.
