@shauki actually quite a few inkjet printers use servo motors. The last HP printer that died and took apart had a D.C servo motor moving the print head back and forth. Used a encoder strip for position feedback. Pretty sophisticated for a printer that was over 10years old. The tech on the current ones are probably much better.
