@Ryan_Carlyle Yes, if the fan cooling the upper part were also blowing past the hot-end, I can see how that might not be what you want. Some sort of simple air-diverter might serve.
Then again, once designing at that level, you probably have a duct for the part-cooling fan, which could easily divert the airflow from the upper end, by simple presence.
