We're building a really tall Mendel90 at Noisebridge+.

Call him shorty.

@Eric_Moy good point. It’s be great to have a printer that big, but wouldn’t it be better to leave the HUGE printed object stationary, or just moving slowly in Z, and have the extruder do all of the moving? You generally want to minimize the mass moving…

The wobbly

Z-Scale

Le Wobblay? Haha, I’m liking Mendelsaurus 9001.

Yeah, it might be a Lil wobbly. Those 8mm rods are already flexy standing still. I have thick glass and acrylic, so the bed weighs too much, too. Just a test, we can always downsize the Z with a table saw.

I am guessing keeping it fed with 3mm filament will be a challenge. I’m guessing it’ll take three days to fill the build envelope.

BTW, the Z rods are a full meter.

The Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Printersaurus Rex?

Mendel 90 Tall Skinny Nofun

The real question is … why ?

Eileen: Anything that tall will… You could sing to it, as in “Come on Eileen 2 LOO RYE A”…

When I look at his silhouette I see a “Big Foot” Mendel

looks like some new device at the air port?
im with eddy callit it the yedi

“The erector” has a nice ring to it…

@William_Frick because he can?

Ah, there you go, call it “Everest”.

Mental 90? Because, you know, it’s mental. Edit - ah, I missed that @foosel already got there.

Call it “TallStoy 3D Printer”.

Noway are you serious this is tall.

Tipsy.

@Tim_Rastall don’t worry, @foosel also beat me to Mendel 9000

Maybe some flame graphics, chrome, and something to make it print really loud then call it “The Compensator” j/k j/k
