@Jeremiah_Coley . I’m planning a 24v powered bed. I’m using nichrome(nickel chromium) strips for a resistor heater. After lying out the strips and testing Resistance, I plan on poylymide taping everything up. The nichrome is cheap at about 10 bucks for a roll of 7.6m of 4mm by 0.2mm material. The bed to cover is somewhere larger than 600mm in diameter, and I don’t have enough material for that, so I plan on getting at least half of that if possible. I think I’ll succeed in getting a tiny bit more than planned tho.
@kenneth_rooks is there any other electronics between the 24v and the heated bed? Or are you running it through you controll board?
I planned on just using the control board, I figured that as long as the thermistor was in place and the resistance was right it should be OK
I haven’t decided that yet, but I’m thinking either will do seeing as how the temp should never be any where approaching the melting point of the solder.i plan on using high temp lead free solder if I go that route, and if course running test to make sure the joints are all good before i plugging into the control board.
I’ll be sure to provide updates on my progress, provided my kids let me complete this in a timely manner, and the USA doesn’t start a war with one of your respective countries… If i am successful I will officially introduce Takai San to the world… muhahahahahaha
@kenneth_rooks yes please do, kids and the goverment, oh what a handful!!! Good luck and hope to see more soon.
Real danger.
