100 micron resolution with shapeoko ??!! Yes I can :D. This 4:1 pulley reduction drive (pictures attached) will be the drive system for shapeoko evolution 0735 Mark II (S0735EM2). At this point I can drive the motors with this configuration at 1500mm/min, I am happy with this since I usually cut at 400mm/min-500mm/min.

Here is the measurement data at different micro stepping and pulley ratios, all are GT2 2mm pitch belts and pulleys and driven with tinyg :

1:1 No Pulley Drive: Pulley reduction drive 1:1 - Google Drive
2:1 Pulley Drive: Pulley reduction drive 2:1 - Google Drive
4:1 Pulley Drive: Pulley reduction drive 4:1 - Google Drive

And as with previous measurements done with 0735 Mark I (S0735EM1) using TB6560, grbl 0.8c, or tinyg , 1/2 micro-step seem to always give me the best resolution, this is just my experience and results from the data collected.
