2nd attempt at the cube… Printrbot metal plus
looks like you’ve got a number of issues. First, sliding. make sure your belts are tight and you’re not shifting your axis.
also, looks like you’re not given even extrusion. under extrusion looks exactly like low temp. look at both of those.
Check the x,y and x mouvement. Move them by 20mm and mesure to see if they really moved 20mm
@Ryan_Leverenz I will increase the temperature to 208C, but the belts feel pretty tight tho…
@Andre_Courchesne1 I’ll check that too… do u recommend Cura over repeatier?
Repetier for that kind of stuff
Did you check the settings on the stepper motors? Are they getting hot? Are they slipping? When you do a move, do they make a clicking sound? Can you move the motors by hand when they’re enabled?
@Stephanie_A Hi Steph… that is one thing I did notice… even when the printer is turned off the motors won’t move, they are locked
javierymirna If you cant move the bed when it is off something is wrong… can the belt was to tens ? i did tens mine little to much first time but it was easy to let it go little and then i was using wd40 on the bearings to the bed then all was ok …
I agree, if it is difficult to move the head or the platform when the machine is off, then the belts are too tight or the bearings are binding. I’d advise against wd30, it is not a lubricant. Use sewing machine oil or even 3in1 oil.
Just so u guys know, I returned the printer to printrbot, it was an “expensive” move; even tho the printer was defective out of the box, when contacting customer service (via email), it took a long time for them to respond, and when they did respond, I didn’t receive the proper help required to fix the problem… It cost me 20% plus shipping, just so printrbot would take their defective printer back.
So it cost me over $300 just to return it.
The worst experience I ever had with a US based company, with the Makerbot and the Cube3D i was able to at least get something printed right out of the box… when I decided to return the makerbot, no questions asked and a full refund was made.
I’m really disappointed with printrbot, I would not recommend it to anybody. They don’t stand behind their products.
Thanks for all of your help!!
@javierymirna Use the plus to tag @Printrbot they do monitor the G+ channels.
@Andre_Courchesne1
Hi Andre! Thanks for the tip… at this point I want nothing to do with printrbot! lol They are well aware of the situation including Brook.
It was an expensive mistake and good waist of time, but I’m over it… I got another 3d printer coming (from another company).
Good learning experience for me…
Thanks for all your help! I know u did tried to get me up and running! I appreciate your help!
