2nd time printing Squirtle.

2nd time printing Squirtle. Can’t figure why this is happening on the slight over hang areas. Using Simplify3D on an Replicator Dual. PLA at 210C.

Almost all prints are looking like this where there’s even a slight overhang the print warps funny.

Same problems …
Looking for a solution

If this happened to me I would assume the part is not being cooled fast enough. Not being cooled lets the plastic droop when doing overhangs (this is only based on my personal experience)

IMHO 210C for PLA is way too high. try 195-200

I print my PLA at 185C when I’m worried about overhangs so I would recommend reducing your extruder temp by 10*C or so and seeing if it helps. Still bonds well between layers, I am using a heated bed though so it helps keep the part that little bit warmer.

Could perhaps be over-extruding a little. Just a guess though.

I dont think 210 is way too high. I have had pla fillament that printed best at 225c on my e3d v6. But this calls for a realy good fillament cooler fan.

I’ve never personally gone higher than 200 with PLA, but I know some who do without issue.

Still, couldn’t hurt to see how it goes at 190-200.

I’m also going to guess inadequate cooling. Point a small fan at the print area for the whole duration, change no other variables and see how the results change.

Gonna try the fan today. I’ll report afterwards.
