That basically this one?

Yeah I think I paid like 4.00 each from hong kong shipping was extremely fast… under 1 week and the shipping was free wtf?
I really need to move my battery powered stuff from NiMH to LiPo, if only to have the option for smaller charging circuits like this!
@Larry1 can you post a link where you bought them? I just picked up some 1200mA round LIPO cells from HobbyKing. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=23320
Or LiFePO4 (aka LiFe), which apparently you can safely charge with a pair of jumper cables and a lightning rod.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=130918041193 looks like I paid 6 and 2.00 shipping. I thought it was free
So how wide are these? I have a POV wand project in mind, but it needs to be as narrow as possible and AFAIK there are no (off-the-shelf) power and microcontroller components that will fit in a 1cm diameter tube.
It will probably fit.
The description says these are 10 by 40mm.
They fix inside of .814 hdpe tubing
@Mark_Kriegsman LiFe batteries are safer as thermal runaway is blocked by the battery chemistry. But LiFe chemistry does not pack the same punch (LiFe cells are rated at 3.2v vs liPO at 3.7v) and the same size cell has about 15% less energy than an equivalent LiPO cell.
Yep. In commercial settings, I think I’m mostly seeing LiFe pitched as replacements for lead/acid batteries, based on weight and overall lifetime.
But for folks who might want something that’s both rechargeable and tamer than Li ion or Li poly, LiFe is worth a look.
But the weight thing can be real, too: I remember watching some of my campmates drag a surprisingly heavy shipping case onto the truck being loaded for Burning Man. When they pointedly asked me “What the *%&$ is IN there?!?”, I remember saying “Oh, this year I decided to bring my lead brick collection.” When they stared slack-jawed I added, “Lead bricks! You know-- BATTERIES!”
