30 hour print failed at 99%,

30 hour print failed at 99%, FML!!!

d’oh

I feel your pain. I recently had a 24 hours print fail due to a power surge/brown out. I was using our new I3 Mk3 with power panic and it failed to restart so I was pretty annoyed. Apparently even that feature isn’t 100%. Prusa support had me install the newest beta of the firmware because it’s a known issue.

The more things change…

That sucks. At that point isn’t it usable? Do you have a pic?

A pic would have me go out to the garbage bin… I was pissed. Top of groots head is missing.

Gotcha, sorry to hear that. For future reference, sometimes… sometimes there’s a way to save it… it may not be perfect but you could try splitting the model in meshmixer or smth similar and print the top 1% then glue it to the 99% print

@Kyle_Taylor I put in a old APC UPS that had bad batteries. Found some replacement online for $35. It actually saved a 6 hour print yesterday. Power cut out for about 5 seconds.

I have a couple of similar old APC laying around too, just didn’t have one attached because I had tested the power panic previously and it worked as advertised. I think the issue was it was a surge/brown out so it never completely lost power. When it came back on it even showed the wrong file on the LCD display. It’s why I contacted Prusa support and let them know all the details. Which is why they suggested the newer 3.3.0-RCI-828 firmware.

Ouch

Could you add a few details so we can fully appreciate the pain you feel

@Enoch_Root haha! Yes! I agree totally

My cat may go visit a river in a burlap sack. Enough said!

@funinthefalls that’s an earned vacation

Stupid cats!

Just shave off the top and restart the print
