#ScoutCoreXY 3D MODEL VIEWER ON #SKETCHFAB: Scout CoreXY [XY:F694ZZ, Z:624vv, Horizontal X] - 3D model by thorfab [6c6dd3f] - Sketchfab
Finally got the courage to take the previous #ScoutCoreXY design that had the tiny, pushed-outwards (but space efficient) Y Rods clamps.

It wasn’t easy, had to do some important changes in the process: X axis is now horizontal instead of vertical, footprint is a bit larger.

I am not happy about the larger footprint for the same print area but I’ve learned that it is important that the smooth rods’ ends on X are fully supported by screws instead of floating at the mercy of the belts tension, which tends to bring them to solid contact, possibly bending/flexing the Y rods (Vertical vs Horizontal X rods arrangement? What distance between rods?).

Also the larger footprint of the frame is not that disappointing as I could incorporate the square-tube-clamp that I have been repeating throughout the design also for the Y rods’ ends clamps and also now I have enough room to include my 4-point-adjusting-collars, with which I can very precisely square and level the XY stage.
