3d printed nuts, bolts and washers! Needed to bolt something together and the shops

3d printed nuts, bolts and washers! Needed to bolt something together and the shops are closed as it’s sunday, this was the solution!

LOL - when you’re a hammer…
(Very cool - keep it up. I love watching what you & your printer are up to)

What size are these? M4 maybe? Files?

@Samer_Najia These are M8, used thingiverse customizer to make them using these: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193647

@seb_seb thanks. I need M4s and am not patient enough to wait on Amazon…

@Samer_Najia Well my printer isn’t that precise and these work well, so if you have a precise enough printer M4’s should be possible! Good luck anyhow!

So what’s gonna be hangin’ from these then? I printed a few M8 Nuts just for kicks last month and was shocked at just how well they worked.

@Duncan_Gunn Don’t know if you saw my post about a month ago but I was trying to print a follow focus, unfortunatly it failed, so I printed it again this weekend. The problem is you need nuts and bolts to assemble it all so I printed these, so in the end a 100% printed follow focus!

@seb_seb I’m not sure you’d want that.
A follow focus needs to be precise, have no play and silent, very easy bearings.

@Marcus_Wolschon Yes, I have been playing around with it and 100% 3d printed isn’t great, just wanted to assemble it this weekend. I will most likely go and buy the appropriate nuts and bolts tomorrow. Also I will try using bearings instead of washers. It was still fun to print all of the parts though!

@seb_seb Did you design the parts and if so what software did you use. If you downloaded them, what site did you use.
I have needed bolts and nuts in the past and have not found anywhere to download them or found software I am able to design them on.
Any help would be appreciated.

@Paul_C I found them on thingiverse, you can use the thingiverse customizer to make the dimensions you want! Here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193647

Did you really need that thick of a brim?

@Scottie_D369 I like to play it safe, it hardly costs any more to print and helps the print stick.

Well I’m not saying don’t use them. I also use them but really only like 4mm. But generally using a glue sticks helps big time in prints! Also I just wanted to say that it is recommended to do those individually. That way if a print does fail you ruin all of them. So yes everything is taking a chance there.
