3D Printer fire hazards. It happens. Fortunately not often. But it does. And lets be honest. A lot of us leave our printers running unattended (you really sit there for 20,30,40 hours or more watching?)

Just stumbled across an interesting fire suppression device.

Basically it’s a heat activated, single use, dry chem fire extinguisher. It’s primary intent is to be installed in the ceiling over your stove. Once enough heat reaches it, it dumps. (it’s heat based, not smoke based - no few false positives, but also won’t trigger until there’s a good fire going).

I know some people have installed things like this. Put your printer in a cabinet in the garage and put an automatic fire extinguisher above it, and you’re good to go.

i like it that it works down to -45 Celsius but gets activated at 135 Fahrenheit. biiiig red herring for me!
