3D Printers that only 3D print? Get out of here! We want etching, we want milling, we want scanning, and we want it now! We’ve taken a look at five 3D printers that do more than just plain old #3Dprinting .

Unfortunately, all these are in the “kickstarter” TBD 2014 stage. I bought one that is supposed to be shipped “soon” from QU-BD (Milling and 3D printing). I am excited but wary until I have actually used it.

Question; has anyone ever seen a sumpod work? I’ve seen ones that simply cannot print, let alone do CNC work?

When I was doing research on the Sumpod I came across a couple of very disparaging YouTube videos. It was more to do with the idea they had two years ago, whether they followed that idea through is very much up for debate.

QU-BD was one I missed @Chris_Reyes , do you think there’s going to have to be some sort of clampdown on Kickstarer, I see so many people complaining about things they have yet to receive, it must be annoying.

Technically, QU-BD’s RPM wasn’t on Kickstarter, but there is a definite back-lash. I don’t think there will be a clampdown so much as a shake-up in the “innovation industry” where knowledgeable experienced companies, very similar to Quirky, will become partners to these projects-giving their “seal of approval” that they will be able to go into production if the goal is met.
