3DR parts print started!
This is a square tube version (no 20x20 alu extrusion here).
I have almost all the vitamins, the only missing things are the ball connectors and the springs.
Im thinking on using 3mm filament, @Richard_Horne , is that going to be a problem?, i have a bowden tube for 3mm filament.
Nice! @Nicolas_Arias #3DR Modifications Already ! great stuff I’ll have to get cracking on the next blog post
You did work out the motor wires go down the tube then.
looks great, can you please share your base files as I have a heap of 20x20 tube.
ThX
@Richard_Horne , yeah, i saw that the cables go inside the tubes. i plan on drilling a 15mm hole on the inner side of the tube, so i can pass the cables.
Also, i have to modify the top cover, so theres access to the inner part of the tube to put the nut that holds it.
forget about the last bit (top cover) i see that there already holes!
@Auzze_Auzze give me a few days so i can assemble the printer, once i do that i will publish the files, if @Richard_Horne agrees!
Where did you get your bowden tube?
That’s slick! I had thought about using electrical conduit a la iquizzle’s uConduit (http://reprap.org/wiki/Uconduit). I have some ideas for this and other deviations but this is my first delta and I’m playing it safe for now.
Interested in using 3mm here too, since I have ~20lb in PLA and nylon and requisite hot ends. I planned to get new kit for this but if I can reuse my 3mm stuff that would be handy.
Tubes and smooth rods are cutted. No i need to print the top part so i can assemble and do the tube drilling.
i think that when i manage to get the basic structure and check that the top and bottom parts go as expected with the square tube i will publish the files
