3DS is discontinuing the Cube. CubePro still being sold. Does anyone know if they use the same filament cartridges?

Just saw one of these broken at a Microsoft store. Also I don’t think they’re compatible, but I could be very very wrong.
The design of the 3rd gen cartridges is quite different from that of the CubePro cartridge. I would like to see the release of the chip code or some other action that would enable third party sales of the cartridges.
The cartridges are different. The PR states that they will keep selling materials for Cube owners.
One thing I’m certain, it will be a cold day in hell before 3DS removes DRM or releases chip codes.
