5 hours later the big-e is a big ass printer. Start wiring this weekend. All in all its a very well thought out kit that with some good pictures and a short set of IKEA level instructions could be built pretty easily.

I’m really looking forward to some monster prints. We built on a 3636" base with a little over 36" height so its still mildly portable. We have a 2424" heated bed that’s going on it too. Its gonna be rad. @Brook_Drumm1

Awesome work. Looks like a fun group build.

Won’t that need some upper bracing? looks like it might rock. I could be wrong its not in front of me.
But it does look really nice.

Somebody was up late

Yea it was a long night.

Wow! Looks nice!

@Jeff_Dewe we wondered the same thing but now that the weight of the 4 nema 23 motors are slung low on the gantry, it feels much better

@seb_seb Are you perhaps thinking of a Duplo Printer?

@Neil_Darlow LOL! Why not! Funny you mention it, at one point I was thinking about making the case out of Duplo instead of wood but didn’t have enough!

I really want to either build, or find a nice compact pellet extruder for it. I was there till 3am making some extension cables for the hot end and extruder. Excited to get it printing!

So exciting to see one in the wild! You are now #2 in the world! What a great space you have there, too.

Enjoy
Brook

I love my gearhead extruder. Been trying to convince the wife on the big e printer.
