A couple friends at my Makerspace made a variation of the Taz printer. I’ll see if they can link the write up they did on it. Anyways, I just finished building mine (we bulk ordered parts for a small run at the space) and it is now up and running.

Quick specs:

  • 12" x 12" x 12" build volume
  • Current print is ABS
  • E3D v6 hotend
AC powered silicone bed heater (3 min to heat to 115°C)
  • 0.8mm nozzle

I like how the bed heats damn near 1:1 with the nozzle.

I’ve seen these printers in person…they are very well built. I’m considering one of them when I build my next printer.

II hope the nozzle is not set to too high of a temperature and that you have some ventilation but hopefully not affecting the printing. I heard a baby. ABS fumes can kill fish and birds, so they mighg be bad for a baby too.

This is awesome. What did the final cost come out to be?

Yeahhh… \m/

That’s a R2D2 shoulder? Would you share the files?
