A couple of additional photos I managed to take on the second day of #MRRF2017 – If MRRF had prizes (@J_O11 , could we implement this?!) the @Arcus-3D guy would have won hands down. He has a working implementation of active-mixing FDM printing running! I don’t know HOW many people have tried tackling that and failed.
It’s on the list for next year man!
@J_O11 Sweet! I saw a lot of people there who deserved some special, above and beyond credit for the awesome stuff they were accomplishing.
I’m not even saying like…“things” to give these people – just…awards of some sort. Even if it’s just a “best in show”…would fit pretty well given that it’s in the 4-H building…haha!
Thanks for sharing some of mrrf @ThantiK It means alot man
@ThantiK that spinning motor on the effector is mixing the CMYKW, right? How does the plastic not leak out? Does the printer have a name or link? Would love to find out more.
@Shai_Schechter If I remember correctly there is a thread on the reprap forums.
@Shai_Schechter , yep. Active blending. @Arcus-3D - and how he managed to seal it is a secret right now. Trying to hold off on the Chinese clones for as long as possible.
Man I need to go to this show sometime. Some way cool, out of the box stuff there.
@ThantiK Have you seen the color mixing printer on the facebook group? The one with the soda cans. I don’t think they use a motor to mix it.
I think this is the printer? https://hackaday.io/project/3729-arcus-3d-m1-full-color-filament-printer
@Shai_Schechter absolutely.
