A customer commissioned me to print some models. Slic3r was having problems with the thin sections of this model. I ended up setting up Kisslicer for real and after about an hour of tweaking settings, I produced my best quality print yet! I have really liked Slic3r since I started using it but now I wish I had taken the time with Kisslicer sooner.

I should add that my printer isn’t anything terribly fancy. It’s an old Mendel-Parts Orca V0.2 that I converted to linear bearings and T2.5 belts.

I too have been using Slic3r and haven’t taken the time to setup Kisslicer. I think you just inspired me to take the time and try it out.

“I should add that my printer isn’t anything terribly fancy.” what are you saying the quality looks great

I’m also converted to Kisslicer. Better control, better profile settings better support and that’s not even the pro version.

Brass knuckles?

I don’t see much difference from those photos.

They aren’t a comparison. Just different lighting. I always struggled with infill and quality on small areas when I was using slic3r.

@Phil_Hord ABS knuckles :slight_smile:

@zephyrin_JG Thank you. What I mean is that structurally the frame isn’t the stiffest in the world. Granted it’s better than many. I was kind of in a rut where I had accepted that areas of small infill such as around the finger holes were not going to work properly, when I was using Slc3r. I always thought it was a limitation of both the software and structure. But Kisslicer changed my opinion.
