6mm birch laser ply. An off cut from a laser job. It does sand up really nicely. I am thinking about what to use to protect it. Maybe even use some resin on the pockets.
how much allowance did you use?
I was trying for a perfect fit. I.e. These are both identical outside cuts. If it was cut with a laser I would expect a perfect fit with the allowance being the kerf of the laser cut. The space between the joint is lack of accuracy. A start, but can be improved!
I noticed only later that you used a laser cutter and no milling machine. So the width of the laser is always an implicit allowance.
No laser cutting for this job. Just a piece of left over material used on the Shapeoko 2 cnc with generic dremel. Makita r0790 on order.
