A friendly reminder that new members should read the community rules.

Posts from accounts that obviously only serve as an advertising outlet for a specific website or only post for SEO will be removed, reported and banned.

We actually check your account, and if it looks like you are only using your account to link to your website for advertising revenue or other gain, your post will be deleted and account likely banned.

Blog posts to useful techniques and original and useful content is typically okay (we check links for content).
Unboxings, wishlists, holiday gift guides, and other useless information will likely be deleted. Links without text or summary will likely be deleted. Pictures without summary or links to the source or models will likely be deleted.
We encourage discussion and open source. If your post doesn’t provide useful information then it doesn’t belong here.

What’s the root cause for this?

I had someone ask why their post was deleted.

Also, you’re more likely to be banned rather than just deleted if your content feels spammy. We get so much spam that we do our best but simply can’t check every single one.

I think you guys do a decent job with spam for the amount of members we have. Also, I think all the rules are fair as well.
