How do people feel about inland and hatchbox filanent, most notably ABS. I have been having trouble with inland filament sticking to the bed, and warping.(which may just be me) But it also isn’t the nicest looking either. Is hatchbox any good?
Are there any brands you would suggest for someone in Northeast America?
Disagree with Ray on the heated bed part. I’ve printed it on blue tape for two years and as long as done right it never warps (PLA). Their abs coloring doesn’t match perfectly with its PLA counterpart but I’ve had maybe 3 jams in 50+ spools of inland.
I’ve got two rolls of matchbox black PLA filament that I’ll be using to print out the models from one of those Kickstarter Dungeon and Dragons Terrain thing. They used matchbox silver to print out their initial models for pics for their kickstarter and they look really really good. So i went with the black so I don’t have to (but will likely still do a little) black wash on them after i hit them with a bit of grey primer filler. I’ve thrown alot of stuff at my prusa i3 mk2 of late and haven’t had a filament issue yet…
Don’t know about the ABS, but the PLA is nice. If you run it a little hot (say 210C) it’s glossy, at 200C for me it’s somewhat more matte. Colours are cheerful and toy-like, and it sticks to my bed just fine (50C glass with think layer of diluted PLA). Only problem in the UK is that it’s rather expensive to get hold of. Someone was selling it at a good price on http://amazon.co.uk which is why I have it, but that third party seller hasn’t restocked in ages.
@raykholo@Griffin_Paquette I have been printing PLA on blue tape with the bed off. It hasn’t warped a single time yet.
I think I will keep printing with Inland then, but I will buy a roll of hatch box to see how that goes. @David_Clunie , It would be nice to see what you think of hatchbox and how they turn out. Good luck!
