A touch of color for the weekend

A touch of color for the weekend

I would love to do something like this but aren’t you worried about moisture affecting the filament?

its better for the material keeping it in the plastics…

That’s what I thought. I keep mine in ziplock and keep the pack it’s shipped with in there. I wonder if a covered big bin with silica gel packs would be ok

I wanted to create a sealed transparent tube that’s temperature controlled to both control moisture but still leaves the spools on display. Also modifying a wine cellar unit may work too.

The truth be told I have some 1 year old ABS and PLA just in a plastic drawer and I printed with them recently with no issues. So this whole moisture messing up filament is inaccurate. Jmho

Its dependent on the filament provider. Some filaments react differently to moisture. I have old MakerBot filament for 2 years ago that’s a nightmare to print with now.

We live in a relatively dry climate even in the summer, but we’ve seen filament ruined by excessive moisture. Ours is stored in plastic bins with silica gel dessicant packs (either commercial, or homemade by collecting those little envelopes and transferring the contents to cloth bags).

Colors are very vibrant. Doing any multi color prints?
