About to machine the heat bed! 1st op is a pocket for silicone heat pad (400mm X 400mm). 2nd op is facing the opposite side. Material is 18in. sq. 1/2" MIC 6 plate. It does have some slight warp to it which I hope to correct by facing the print area.
I’m milling a pocket in order to be able to use potting silicone on bottom of heat pad for insulation. Also makes for a cleaner install. The plate was already warped when I got it… Just slightly though. Mic 6 is gummy to machine but my face mill has sharp edge inserts to get a nice finish.
