After a few kilometres of filament, my extruder gear has worn out. New one works a treat!

Is that brass?

Wow, didn’t realize filament could tear up a metal drive gear so much. Why get another one that’s just going to get torn up again instead of a stainless MK8 or similar? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MK8-extruder-gear-hobbed-gear-drive-gear-stainless-steel-5mm-reprap-3d-printing-/161231319761?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item258a22b2d1

@Hans_Brakeley Yes I think so.

@ThantiK This is a “genuine” replacement so it fits straight on. The MK8 won’t fit my mountings as is. I will have to make yet more modifications. At this stage I have changed a great many things on my Felix 2.0 (it should really be called a Felix 2.3.4.2.12 :slight_smile: )

This new gear looks a little different to the old one so we will see how it goes. But for $7 for a new one, it’s not something I’m too worried about.

Hmm… I wonder if that’s the problem with my MG Prusa…?

looks to me like. you have two different sizes.
