After a real long road (longer then it should have been I think) I finally have my CRAMPS board running MachineKit and printing with LinuxCNC.
I need to tweak some things in my PID, my temps were all over the place. But over all the machine runs very smooth and a lot quieter than with my RAMPS 1.4. My bed also reaches 100C finally where it used to max out 96 no matter what I did to the PID.
Thanks to @Charles_Steinkuehler and the rest of the machineKit community for being patient. Im excited to build a whole new printer around this board and dive deeper.
How are you finding print quality in comparison to the ramps setup?
That is awesome Joe! I’m just getting to the point where I’m going to be tuning pids with my CRAMPs board.
its not that far yet. The PID settings aren’t a straight transfer from Marlin, so I need to do some tweaking. But the machine runs better in general. Ill do some more tweaking over the next few days while I wait for my laser parts to come it.
The filament used in this picture is awful too btw. All the prints Ive done with it come out something like this. So I wouldn’t put to much stock in that fish lol.
