After adjusting the gcode on my Printrbot Metal Plus to: M212 Z-0.20 lol!
Woops!
Think increase print speed and lower temp maybe?
@Zane_Mitchell it seems to start Ok, but a minute into it, it starts printing a smaller cube… on this vide at the end, the printer was just moving XY… support just asked me to take the probe apart and disconnect from the printrboard… ha! no way! i just took this thing out of the box and they’re asking me to take it apart… lol
Heh. Well I’d tackle it but if not send it back lol.
Looks like it is the motor problem. You can see that it moves in one direction only. When it suppose to move in the other direction, it doesn’t.
But since the print runs fine at the first few layers. This suggests that it is a heat / electricity related issue.
- Does your fan turns on at the same time that it stops moving sideway? If yes, something wrong with the circuitry.
- Is your Y axis motor hot to the touch?
Debugging
- Home X and Y using Repetier.
- Jog Y axis back and forth 50 times
If you can do the above, it is not the motor but something strangely wired between the fan and the motors.
